9.1.2010 | Women's Volleyball

Before a packed house, in a match against local rival and 2009 NCAA Qualifier Cabrini College, the Eagles delivered an efficient three set win. The decision came with many stunning moments, not the least of which was junior Courtney Reinhold’s 1000th kill. She became the 8th person in Eastern’s 20-year history to accomplish this feat.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Down a goal and to only 10 men after a red card early in the second half, the Lycoming College men’s soccer team got a needed boost from sophomore Jimmy Deasel (Kingsville, Md./Loyola Blakefield), who scored two goals in a span of two minutes to lead the Warriors to a 3-2 upset win over defending Freedom Conference champion Misericordia at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Sept. 1.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Before the season even started, the Lycoming College athletic program was dealt a tough loss on Saturday, Aug. 28, when longtime public address announcer Dick Zimmerman passed away at age 73. Zimmerman had served as the Warriors’ PA announcer for the past 37 years, joining legendary coach Frank Girardi in his first year on the corner of Packer and Mulberry streets.

Reading, Pa.- Alvernia University Director of Athletics Bill Stiles announced Friday the hiring of Rich Carrington as the new head coach of Men's Lacrosse. Carrington joins the staff after building the program at Chestnut Hill College and takes over for seven-year head coach Kevin Meany.
