Messiah College and Eastern University have been selected by the leagues head coaches to win their respective conferences in field hockey in the annual preseason poll.

READING, Pa. - Monday morning, Albright Athletic Directors Rick Ferry and Janice Luck announced that Megan Monahan has been named the new Head Field Hockey coach and Director of Athletics Marketing at Albright College. Monahan is scheduled to begin her new position on June 23rd. 

Reading, Pa. - Alvernia University announced today that Laura Gingrich has been named Head Field Hockey Coach. Gingrich, who will remain as Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, returns to the take over the program she guided from 1999-2007. She replaces Nicole Rhoads, who after two years at the helm will take the head coach position at her alma mater, Bloomsburg University. 

The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year. Alvernia, Arcadia, Delaware Valley, Eastern, Lebanon Valley, Messiah, Misericordia and Widener all earned this award.

CAPE COD, Mass. - Jenna Disabatino of Wilkes had an outstanding freshman season, naming her 2009 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Rookie of the Year. Disabatino had an impressive 50 points on the season with 18 goals and 14 assists. She helped Wilkes to a 18-4 record.

Grantham, PA — On the heels of arguably the most successful season in the history of Messiah field hockey, the program was steeply honored Tuesday, as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced junior Julie Barton as the 2009 NFHCA Division III National Player of the Year.

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Nov. 20, 2009) – There is only one thing missing on the resume of legendary Messiah field hockey coach Jan Trapp - a national championship.
