Middle Atlantic Conference

The Middle Atlantic Conference announces its annual sportsmanship teams for the spring 2010 conference sports. These teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season. The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.

Hershey, PA — As a team, Messiah may be out of the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championships, but that doesn’t mean the Falcons won’t have a presence on the final two days of the four-round event.

HERSHEY, Pa. – Led by Freedom Conference Player of the Year Mike Cresci (Belvedere, Calif.), the Manhattanville men’s golf team put together arguably the two most dominating rounds in program history at the 2010 Freedom Conference Championships, winning the fifth conference championship in program annals by 39 strokes at the Hershey Country Club East Course on Saturday and Sunday.

Macungie, PA  – Junior Kenny Engel (Philadelphia, PA/Academy of the New Church) and sophomore Thomas Gumbert (Gilbertsville, PA/Reading Central Catholic) each shot a team-low 82 on a cold and windy day leading the DeSales University golf team past Centenary College, 353-371, in the Bulldogs first and only home match of the season at Brookside Country Club in Macungie, PA. 

Reading, Pa. - Freshman Casey Osborne (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) shot his second straight 74 to lead Alvernia University to a 325 team total and third place out of six teams at the Crusaders' Spring Golf Invitational hosted by the Reading Country Club.

Bryan Marzolino shot a four-over par 76 to lead the Misericordia University golf team to a sweep of DeSales and Wilkes in their home opener, Tuesday at Mountain Laurel.

LEBANON, Pa. - For the second time in the 2009-10 golf season, the Lions left the Lebanon Valley College Invitational as tournament champions, defeating 19 other teams with a final combined score of 318 (+30) Monday afternoon.
