PURCHASE, N.Y. – Junior Nicole Bifulco (Howard Beach, N.Y.) of the Manhattanville softball team recently had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel across the world and represent the United States at the Australian Friendship Series, spending two weeks “Down Under” and helping the US squad to a first-place finish.

The Middle Atlantic Conference announces its annual sportsmanship teams for the spring 2010 conference sports. These teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season. The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.

Bethany, WV – It wasn’t the easiest path to winning a title but it was equally as effective as the DeSales University softball won three games on Sunday afternoon from the loser’s bracket, including two wins over host and #1 seed Bethany College, to claim the Bulldogs’ first-ever ECAC South Region Championship in their first-ever appearance ending the season with a school-record 29 wins.

Newport News, VA — It’s the post-season once again. Sophomore Jessica Rhoads doesn’t need reminded. The Falcons’ do-it-all pitcher continued to save her best for when it matters most, delivering a no-hitter in the pitching circle and a two-run, first-inning homer Thursday — leading seventh-ranked Messiah to an 8-0 blasting of Greensboro College in the opening game at the Christopher Newport University regional.

Ashley Ballard drove in the only run of the game in the top of the seventh to lead the Misericordia University softball team to a 1-0 win over Centenary in the opening round of the ECAC South championships, Thursday.

ITHACA, N.Y. - Meghan Donoghue's solo shot in the sixth inning was the deciding run as Laura Snyder twirled a 14-strikeout gem to lead #21 Lebanon Valley past Polytechnic (N.Y.), 1-0, in NCAA Regional play at Ithaca College.

Center Valley, PA  – Sophomore Katie Morrissey (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Township) and junior Jen Lococo (Easton, PA/Freedom) combined on a two-hit shutout leading the DeSales University softball team to a 3-0 win over Cabrini College in the opening round of the ECAC South Region Tournament on a chilly and dreary Wednesday afternoon.

DOYLESTOWN -- Tournament most valuable player Lindsey Hoerner drove in the game-tying runs, then added the game-winning run as the King’s College softball team won a second straight Freedom Conference championship with a 6-5 victory over Misericordia University Saturday at Delaware Valley College, Doylestown.
