WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Even though the 2009-10 Lycoming College women’s swim team featured a roster that included 10 freshmen, the team showed its maturity both in the pool, winning the school’s first Middle Atlantic Conference title since 1997, and in the classroom, as the team earned Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American Team honors for the spring semester thanks to posting a 3.20 team GPA.

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conferences Winter Academic Honor Roll, which notes academic excellence by student-athletes, contains 329 honorees as announced by Executive Director Ken Andrews.

The Middle Atlantic Conference announces its annual sportsmanship teams for the winter 2010 conference sports. These teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season. The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.

The MAC office has announced the 2010 winter scholar athletes. The MAC Awards Committee bases selection on academic record (50%) and athletic prowess (50%). One student-athlete is chosen per sport. The winner must be a senior with a minimum GPA of 3.2.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – For the first time in head coach Jerry Hammaker’s 10-year career, the Lycoming College women’s swim team has won the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship. The Lady Warriors amassed 616 team points during the 2010 meet, besting Misericordia University’s 603. Lycoming broke eight schools records en route to the victory.

Widener’s men’s swimming team continued its dominance of the Middle Atlantic Conference, capturing its 12th league championship and fifth consecutive at the Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
