Pomona, NJ (October 17, 2009) – The DeSales University men’s cross country team continued to enjoy a very successful 2009 season, taking home first place at the CTC Championships held at Richard Stockton College on a soggy Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (68 points) finished just ahead of Rowan University (70 points) and Ramapo College (74 points) to earn the win. Leading the way once again for the Bulldogs was senior Andrew Ferretti (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) as he took home fourth place individually with a time of 26:34.61 on the 8K course.
Junior Kevin Gwinn (Center Muriches, NY/Saint Anthony’s) continued his strong running as well, taking home eighth place in a time of 26:47.71, while junior Mike Curry (Kennett Square, PA/Salesianum) and sophomore Brent Clauser (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) were next across in 17th and 18th place in times of 27:19.14 and 27:23.37.
Rounding out the top finishers were juniors and twin brothers Brian Filanowski (Cumbola, PA/Marian Catholic) and Pat Filanowski (Cumbola, PA/Marian Catholic) in 21st and 22nd place and in times of 27:26.90 and 27:27.32.
DeSales returns to action in two weeks as they prepare for their most important race of the season, the MAC Championships on Saturday, October 31st, being held at home on the DeSales University campus.
