Reading, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2009) - Senior Bridget Burger (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) established the first course record with a time of 20:58 to lead Alvernia University to a win over Penn State-Berks Saturday morning in a women's cross country race at Alvernia's new home course.
Sophomore Diana Christman (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) covered the course in 22:32 finishing second for the host Crusaders. Emily Dietz (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) finished fifth in 23:32 followed closely by Emily Bieber (Blandon, Pa./Oley Valley) in sixth at 24:13. Veronica Marzen (Lehighton, Pa./Marian Catholic) finished 10th to round out the Crusaders' scores.
Alvernia runs at York College next Saturday.
