ANNVILLE, Pa. - Junior Justin Lee of the football and track & field teams and junior Emily Hopkins of the volleyball team have been selected to leadership positions with the Lebanon Valley College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Lee has been selected to represent the Middle Atlantic Conference on the national level, while Hopkins has been elected president of the conference's SAAC.
Lee, a native of Mercersberg who plays cornerback for the football team and is a sprinter and jumper for the track & field program, will be the student-athlete representative for the Middle Atlantic Conference and Old Dominion Athletic Conference at the 2011 NCAA Convention next January. The NCAA SAAC is made up of 24 student-athletes from 43 conferences to serve as liaisons between the happenings on campus, conference, and national levels.
Hopkins, a Camp Hill native who is an outside hitter for the two-time defending Commonwealth Conference champion volleyball team, has been elected president of the Middle Atlantic Conference SAAC and will also represent Lebanon Valley College on the committee. The MAC SAAC meets bi-annually to discuss conference-wide issues affecting student-athletes at each of the 16 member institutions.
