ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conferences Winter Academic Honor Roll, which notes academic excellence by student-athletes, contains 329 honorees as announced by Executive Director Ken Andrews.
The Honor Roll comprises those student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 (4.00 scale) or higher and completed the playing season in good standing.
Messiah led in total selections with 44, while Misericordia was second with 35 student athletes. Elizabethtown was third with 30 followed by Lebanon Valley with 28, DeSales with 27 and Widener with 26 student ahtletes. Albright and Lycoming were tied for seventh with 18, followed by Manhattanville (17), Arcadia (16), Alvernia (14), King's (13), Delaware Valley, Eastern and FDU-Florham (9), Wilkes and Shenahdoah (8).
Featured on the Winter Honor Roll are track standouts Susan Bochnovich of Misericordia who was named Middle Atlantic Conference Track Athlete of the Year and Middle Atlantic Conference Field Athlete of the Year, Kristen Bates from Messiah. Also on the honor roll is Chris Sheerer of Albright who earned the David B. Eavenson of the Year honor. Student-athletes are selected from men's basketball, women's basketball, men's indoor track and field, women's indoor track and field, men's swimming and women's swimming.
