DALLAS, Pa. (Women’s Cross Country) – The Misericordia Cougars claimed their second-straight Middle Atlantic Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday at the Letterkenny Fields in Dallas. The Cougars’ senior Bianca Bolton claimed the individual title by nine seconds to be the first Misericordia runner to win a MAC Cross Country individual title.
Misericordia had six runners finish in the top-20 to earn All-MAC honors. The Cougars had three runners finish in the top-10 to earn 45 points. DeSales finished runner-up with 49 points and had four runners finish in the top-20, including second- and third-place. Messiah took third with 86 points. The Falcons had four runners finish in the top-20 as well.
Bolton finished the race in a time of 22:35.72 to beat the runner-up, DeSales’ sophomore Veronica Wheeler, by 9 seconds. Wheeler, who was the 2014 MAC Rookie of the Year, finished the race in a time of 22:44.34. Bolton earned the 2015 MAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year award.
DeSales’ freshman Angelina Biondo took third-place with a time of 22:55.80. Biondo earned the 2015 MAC Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year award.
Misericordia’s head coach Chris Wadas was named the 2015 MAC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
