ANNVILLE, Pa. (Men’s Basketball) – The DeSales Bulldogs were selected as the favorite in the 2016-17 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) men’s basketball coaches. The Bulldogs received 47 points and five of the eight first-place votes.
In 2015-16, DeSales fell in the MAC Freedom semifinal round to fourth-seeded Wilkes by a score of 72-62. The Bulldogs had earned the top-seed in the conference tournament after finishing the conference season with an 11-3 record.
Misericordia received 45 points and the other three first-place votes to ranked second. The Cougars earned the second-seed in last year’s conference tournament, but fell to No. 3 Delaware Valley (58-57) who went on to win the title.
King’s collected 30 points, Wilkes earned 29 points and Eastern received 28 points to round of the top-5 of the poll.
The rest of the poll, in respective order, includes Delaware Valley (22 points), Manhattanville (15 points) and FDU-Florham (8 points)
