LVC, Manhattanville Lead Respective Championships After Day One

Lebanon Valley is -11 on MAC Commonwealth field; Manhattanville is -8 on MAC Freedom field

HERSHEY, Pa. (Men’s Golf) –
The first day of the 2017 MAC Commonwealth and MAC Freedom Men’s Golf Championships are in the books. Lebanon Valley has an 11-stroke lead on the MAC Commonwealth field, while Manhattanville has an eight-stroke lead on the MAC Freedom field through day one at the Hershey Country Club.
 
Lebanon Valley’s Thomas Moran finished day one with a 74 (+3) for a one-stroke lead in the individual standings of the MAC Commonwealth Championship.
 
Manhattanville’s Chandler Longfellow finished the first day with a 75 (+4) for a one-stroke lead in the individual standings of the MAC Freedom Championship.
 
MAC COMMONWEALTH
Lebanon Valley recorded a day-one score of 307 (+23) to lead Alvernia (318 | +34) by 11 strokes. Messiah is currently third with a score of 319 (+35), Stevenson (321 | +37) is fourth and Albright (335 | +51). Hood (338 | +54), Widener (346 | +62) and Arcadia (353 | +69) rounded out the scoring teams in the MAC Commonwealth.
 
Moran has a one-stroke lead over teammate David Herbst (75 | +4) and Messiah’s Jordan Kirsch (75 + 4). LVC’s Andrew Capondanno and Stevenson’s Austin Fuglestad are tied for fourth with a score of 77 (+6). Five golfers are tied for sixth with a score of 78 (+7).
 
MAC FREEDOM
Manhattanville recorded a day-one score of 314 (+30) to lead King’s (322 | +38) by eight strokes. Misericordia is currently third with a score of 323 (+39), while DeSales and FDU-Florham are tied for fourth with scores of 326 (+42). Eastern (327 | +43), Wilkes (350 | +66) and Delaware Valley (367 | +83) rounded out the scoring teams in the MAC Freedom.
 
Longfellow has a one stroke lead over four golfers who are tied with a score of 76 (+5), including FDU-Florham’s Brandon Demitus, Misericordia’s Jamie Egan, King’s Shamus Gartley and DeSales’ Schuyler Hart. Misericordia’s Tyler McGarry and Zach Mulhern are tied for sixth with a score of 77 (+6).
 
Day two of both championship will tee off at 8 a.m. The MAC Freedom will tee off from hole one, while the MAC Commonwealth will tee off from hole 10.
