DALLAS, Pa. (Football) - The best season in the history of the Misericordia University football program came to an end with a 70-14 loss to Ursinus in the Centennial-MAC Bow Series, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars finished 8-3.

The Bears, 8-3, broke a 7-7 tie with four unanswered touchdowns to take a 35-7 lead late in the second quarter.

The Cougars answered with a touchdown with 2:00 to play in the first half, but Ursinus scored five TD's over the final 31:12.

David Cromwell ran for 106 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown scamper, and Sam Gillison closed his career with seven catches for 71 yards and a TD.

Isaiah Williams added seven receptions for 64 yards.

Nick Yeager had a team-high 14 tackles and Garrett Murray and Mike Becke both had interceptions.

Ursinus' Samuel Ragland returned the opening kickoff 42 yards to the MU 47 and moved to the 28 in four plays to set up a fourth-and-4.

Murray ended the drive with an interception at the MU 20.  The Cougars went three-and-out and Ursinus used a 43-yard completion and a pass interference penalty to go 64 yards in three plays for the game's first score with
9:30 left in the first quarter.

Taking over at their own 35-yard line after the ensuing kick-off went out of bounds, Cromwell popped outside on first down and out-ran the defense down the left sideline for a 65-yard scoring run to pull MU even, 7-7.

Ursinus used a quick-strike of its own as the Bears went ahead for good on a 75-yard TD pass from game MVP Thomas Garlick on the first play of their ensuing drive.

Ursinus scored four straight TD's to take a 35-7 lead late in the second quarter.

Misericordia gained possession on Becke's interception at the Ursinus 16 and the Cougars took advantage of the short field.

Facing third-and-10, Aaron Barry placed a perfect pass over the top of the defender for a 16-yard scoring strike to Gillison in the back right corner of the end zone with 2:00 left in the first half for his school-record 10th TD catch of the season.

Ursinus added a touchdown less than a minute later and scored twice in the third and fourth quarters for the final margin.
