DAY TWO: MAC Swimming Championship Results

Three conference records fell and two NCAA Division III 'B' cut times were recorded

YORK, Pa. (Swimming) –
The second day of the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships were completed on Friday at the Graham Aquatic Center.
 
Through six events, Arcadia leads the men’s standings with 218.5 points. Messiah is in second with 173 points, and Albright is in third with 172 points. King’s (149 points) and Misericordia (139 points) round out the top-five.
 
Messiah leads the women’s standings with 202 points. Widener is in second with 180.5 points, and Arcadia is third with 169 points. Stevenson (129 points) and Albright (128.5 points) round out the top-five.

400-YARD MEDLEY RELAY
Men
Arcadia’s Michael Melissen, Travis Dalton, Jake Schellinger and Mark Preedy won gold with a time of 3:28.81. Misericordia took home silver with a time of 3:30.32, and Messiah captured bronze with a time of 3:30.68.
 
Women
Messiah’s Kaylee Hollenbach, Shannon Hogan, Cassie Cotton and Katie Wingert won gold with a new MAC Championship and overall MAC record time of 3:55.02. The previous record time of 3:57.52 was set in 2014 by Misericordia. Stevenson took home silver with a time of 3:59.05, and Widener captured bronze with a time of 4:01.82.
 
500-YARD FREESTYLE
Men
Arcadia’s Grant Fisher won gold with a time of 4:40.42 for his third-straight gold medal in the event. Albright’s Teag Culver took home silver with a time of 4:40.98, and Arcadia’s Michael Melissen captured bronze with a time of 4:42.92.
 
Women
Arcadia’s Megan Hupp won gold with a time of 5:09.50 for her second-straight gold medal in the event. Widener’s Nikki Mowry took home silver with a time of 5:12.31, and FDU-Florham’s Molly Miller won bronze with a time of 5:13.28.
 
200-YARD INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY (IM)
Men
Lebanon Valley’s Ian Lloyd won gold with a new MAC Championship and overall MAC record time of 1:53.58. The previous record time of 1:53.79 was set by Albright’s Chris Sheerer in 2010. Arcadia’s Travis Dalton took silver in a time of 1:55.66, and Messiah’s Nolan McArdle won bronze with a time of 1:56.52.
 
Women
Widener’s Jill Bujanowski won gold with a time of 2:08.97. Messiah’s Kaylee Hollenbach won silver with a time of 2:10.69, and King’s Kirsten Siwy took bronze with a time of 2:10.75.
 
50-YARD FREESTYLE
Men
Widener’s Aaron Green won gold with an NCAA Division III ‘B’ cut time of 20.58 seconds. Albright’s Jay Deschamps took silver with a time of 21.35 seconds, and Arcadia’s Tristan Highet won bronze with a time of 21.43 seconds.
 
Women
Messiah’s Katie Wingert won gold with an NCAA Division III ‘B’ cut time of 23.57 seconds. Her time is also a new MAC Championship and overall MAC record. The previous championship record time of 23.83 seconds was set in 2011 by Widener’s Laura Harris. Wingert held the previous overall MAC record time of 23.80 seconds set earlier this season. Messiah’s Cassie Cotton took silver with a time of 23.78 seconds, which also broke both of the original records. Widener’s Christine Kunzler won bronze with a time of 24.21 seconds.
