Albright Men, Messiah Women Selected as Favorites Heading into 2019 MAC Swimming Championships

YORK, Pa. (Swimming) –
The 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships are set for Thursday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 17. For a sixth-straight year, the conference championships will be held at Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa. The Albright Lions men’s team and the Messiah Falcons women’s team were selected as the favorites in the MAC Swimming Pre-Championship Coaches’ Polls conducted among the conference swimming coaches.
 
For directions to the site of competition and parking information go to the championship central page. Live results and live video will also be available on the central page during the championship.
 
Admission prices to the 2019 MAC Swimming Championships can be found on the championship central page. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate. The ticket price also includes a heat sheet. There will no longer be printed programs, however the program information can now be accessed via the championship central page. There will be information at the site of competition on how to access the online program from your mobile device.
 
The Albright Lions were selected atop the 2019 MAC Men’s Swimming Pre-Championship Coaches’ Poll with nine first-place votes for 118 points. Arcadia was second with 109 points and two first-place votes. Widener earned the final first-place vote for 104 points to rank third. King’s (90 points) and Messiah (75 points) rounded out the top-five of the poll. (Full poll can be viewed below)

The Messiah Falcons were selected as the favorites in the 2019 MAC Women’s Swimming Pre-Championship Coaches’ poll with 11 first-place votes for 121 points. Arcadia and Widener both earned 102 points each to tie for second. Misericordia (86 points) and Albright (81 points) rounded out the top-five of the poll. (Full poll can be viewed below)

2018 Team Results
The Albright Lions won the 2018 MAC Men’s Swimming title with 615 points. It was the seventh title in the last eight years for the Lions. They currently have 11 men’s team titles to rank third in the conference all-time. The rest of the teams finished in respective order: 2. Arcadia (550.5), 3. Messiah (449.5), 4. Widener (374), 5. Misericordia (332), 6. King’s (309), 7. Lycoming (172), 8. FDU-Florham (147), 9. Lebanon Valley (146), 10. Hood (127), 11. Wilkes (16), 12. Stevenson (21).
 
The Messiah Falcons won the 2018 MAC Women’s Swimming title with 619.5 points. It was the fifth-straight conference title for the Falcons to rank them third all-time in the conference with five titles. The rest of the teams finished in respective order: 2. Widener (463.5), 3. Arcadia (450), 4. Albright (348.5), 5. Misericordia (319.5), 6. Stevenson (312), 7. King’s (271), 8. FDU-Florham (194), 9. Lycoming (191), 10. Wilkes (92), 11. Hood (81), 12. Lebanon Valley (80).
